Since Venture's primary concern is the integrity of its data, all interviewers undergo extensive training and continued development, which is ensured by constant supervisory feedback. All interviewers are extensively briefed about the project before commencing any interviews and at the start of each shift interviewers are briefed on new information about the project. As well, throughout the project, experienced supervisory staff closely monitor at least 15% of interviews and provide feedback to interviewers as necessary. This is accomplished by using a monitoring feature incorporated in the CATI system that allows supervisory staff to oversee the interviewing to ensure questions are asked using the appropriate wording, and that open-ended responses are an accurate record of what the respondent has stated. As a result, all interviewers receive continuous, individual, on-the-job training and feedback from the field supervisors. At the end of each shift, supervisors are required to prepare notes on any questions raised by interviewers. The briefing notes ensure a consistent manner of dealing with project issues as they arise. Should any questions be raised that cannot be answered by staff, a client representative is consulted. This process ensures that the highest quality of information possible is collected for clients.
Data Quality
Venture's approach to all of its research projects places great importance on the methodology of the research and the quality and integrity of the data collection process. We approach each project with the goal of providing clients with exacting and well-designed market and economic research.
Throughout the data collection process, staff at Venture continually keep the project under review. Venture's staff review, among other things, skip patterns, extreme values, and call result codes to ensure the survey is being executed in the manner expected by the client. As well, a review of open-ended responses is completed to ensure consistency and accuracy. Most importantly, Venture keeps the client updated regarding the project's progress.
